Alain says faith, acceptance of other people and consistent creative work are three principles that have helped guide her career.
Asked on the No NDA Podcast to give a three-part recipe for longevity, the singer-songwriter first identified trusting God as her foundation.
She said she approaches opportunities believing that opened doors are part of a larger purpose, while acknowledging that she still has a responsibility to take action.
Her second principle is accepting that other people are also living their own lives and cannot always be controlled, even when there is disagreement.
Alain said people will not necessarily like one another or agree, but she tries to avoid becoming consumed with controlling how others behave.
Her third principle is consistency. She encouraged creatives to continue singing, writing, making content or pursuing whatever work they are called to do.
Alain said progress requires continuing to create and move forward instead of stopping when circumstances become difficult.
