Alain says people often assume that confident individuals do not need emotional support, an assumption she believes can leave them overlooked.
During her No NDA Podcast appearance, Alain recalled recently being around some of her supporting vocalists when one simply asked whether she was okay.
She said the question affected her because she is usually the person checking on and encouraging others but is not always asked how she is doing.
Alain said simple check-ins and recognition of her humanity mean a great deal to her.
The singer, who is known for encouraging people around her, said confidence should not be mistaken for someone being emotionally unaffected or constantly okay.
She encouraged people to remember that those who regularly support others may also need reassurance, consideration and care.
