Alain says flexibility is one of the most important skills she has developed throughout her career.
Speaking on the No NDA Podcast, the singer-songwriter said things will not always unfold the way performers and other creatives expect.
She said artists must learn to remain calm, breathe, adjust to problems and continue delivering their best work.
Alain used technical difficulties during live performances as an example, explaining that microphones or in-ear monitors can malfunction while an artist is still expected to perform.
She said performers may have to adapt immediately while making the audience feel as though everything is under control.
According to Alain, audiences also may not understand the difficulties taking place behind the scenes.
She encouraged creatives to remain flexible, continue working through unexpected circumstances and give their best despite disruptions.
