The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is implementing extensive traffic restrictions and parking bans around the Queen’s Park Oval to manage traffic flow during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 matches. These measures, issued under Legal Notice No. 649, are designed to ensure smooth vehicular movement and maintain emergency access.
The regulatory provisions will be enforced on five specific match days between late August and early September 2026. Key dates include August 26 and 28-29, as well as August 31 and September 2. On these days, restrictions will be in effect during peak hours, ranging from late afternoon to early morning.
Parking is strictly prohibited on Tragarete Road, St. Clair Avenue, and Sweet Briar Road between specified sections. Additionally, driving and parking are banned on Elizabeth Street, parts of Sweet Briar Road, and Havelock Street to prevent congestion and ensure safety.
Law enforcement officers and wreckers will actively monitor these areas to enforce the restrictions. Vehicles found in violation will be promptly towed. The TTPS urges commuters and match attendees to plan their travel routes, use designated parking hubs, or opt for public transportation to avoid penalties and delays.
