Presentation College, San Fernando, is celebrating its dragon boat team, the Pres SF Vikings, as the young athletes head to Panama to represent their school and Trinidad and Tobago in an international sporting competition.
The team’s journey was announced on the Presentation College Lions Facebook page, which shared an enthusiastic message wishing the paddlers success as they prepare to compete overseas.
The trip comes ahead of Panama’s 11th Dragon Boat Race, scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026, at the Amador Causeway in Panama City.
Dragon boat racing is a demanding team sport requiring strength, endurance, coordination and precise timing as paddlers work together to propel their boats across the water.
For the Vikings, the journey represents an opportunity to showcase their sporting abilities internationally while flying the Trinidad and Tobago flag.
The school’s message captured the spirit of the occasion: “One team. One mission. One Viking family.”
The team’s participation also highlights the growing opportunities for young athletes to represent Trinidad and Tobago in sports beyond the country’s traditional sporting disciplines.
As the Vikings prepare to take to the water in Panama, the Presentation College community will be cheering them on, hoping their determination and teamwork will produce a memorable performance.
