A video circulating online has drawn attention after a man carrying out what appeared to be clean-up work alleged that he receives just $50 a day for the job.

In the video, the man is seen speaking to another individual while standing near a large amount of rubbish that he indicated he was expected to clean.

During the exchange, he alleged that he gets $50 a day to carry out the work and questioned the amount given the volume of rubbish he said he was required to clean.

The man referred to the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation during the conversation. However, the video does not establish the exact nature of his relationship with the Corporation, who hired him, or who is responsible for the alleged $50 daily payment.

He also complained about the condition of the area and claimed that other people who previously carried out similar work had quit.

“Pay us $50 to do all of this,” the man could be heard saying while referring to the rubbish around him.

The man’s allegations have since raised questions online about the circumstances surrounding the clean-up work and the payment he claims to receive.

TG News has not independently verified the alleged $50-a-day payment or established the man’s employment or contractual relationship with the San Juan/Laventille Regional Corporation.

The claims contained in the video remain allegations unless independently confirmed.
