Veteran Trinidad and Tobago media personality and MC Errol Fabien is inviting aspiring and developing hosts to sharpen their skills through a new hands-on masterclass called “Command the Room.”
Fabien said the four-hour workshop is designed to help participants develop the technical skills, confidence and know-how needed to take control of a room and effectively engage an audience.
Rather than spending the session simply talking about the art of MCing, participants will be required to take the microphone and put what they learn into practice.
According to Fabien, each participant will make an initial attempt at MCing before receiving coaching and guidance. They will then record another attempt, allowing them to compare their performance before and after the training.
The workshop will also include a “Command the Room” workbook and Fabien’s “10 Commandments of the Microphone.”
Fabien said the first and most important commandment is: “It’s not about you,” stressing that an MC’s role should remain focused on the event and audience rather than themselves.
The practical, in-studio workshop will be held at Guild Studio and is limited to 20 participants.
The cost of the four-hour session is TT$600 per person.
Fabien is encouraging interested persons to register via WhatsApp as he invites participants to “take the microphone and learn to command the room.”
