Security Guard Wanted After Fatal Stabbing in Arima Bar Altercation

In a tragic turn of events, a night out ended in a fatal stabbing outside a bar in Arima on Saturday, June 27th, 2026. The deceased, identified as 33-year-old Calvin James, was reportedly involved in an altercation with a security officer at the Vybz Room Bar on Green Street. According to the bar owner, the dispute ensued when James attempted to re-enter the premises after leaving, in violation of the bar’s policy.

Police responded to the scene following an assault report shortly after 5:30 a.m. Officers discovered blood on the pavement and began interviewing witnesses. During the initial phases of the investigation, authorities noticed a man behaving suspiciously and attempted to question him. However, the man fled, leading to a foot chase that ultimately ended in his escape.

In the aftermath of the incident, the bar owner identified the fleeing individual as a security officer from his establishment. Meanwhile, homicide investigators received information that James had been rushed to the Arima Hospital with two stab wounds. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, he was pronounced dead at 7 a.m.

As the investigation continues, the suspect remains at large. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in bringing justice in this tragic case.
