Trinidad and Tobago’s Meguella Simon has added another international appearance to her growing list of achievements, representing the country at the 49th Mrs Universe Pageant in Sri Lanka.
Simon, a calypsonian, educator and community advocate, took part in the international competition, which attracted approximately 120 delegates from countries around the world.
The grand finale was held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Colombo, where Isidora Ranković of Monaco was crowned Mrs Universe 2026.
While Simon’s participation has been confirmed, her final placement or any special awards received during the competition have not yet been independently verified.
Her appearance follows an impressive performance at the 2025 Mrs Woman of the Universe competition in South Korea, where she secured second runner-up, bringing international recognition to Trinidad and Tobago.
Beyond the pageant stage, Simon has established herself in several fields. She is a calypsonian, actress, pannist and educator who holds two master’s degrees in education and Carnival studies.
She is also a former president of the Lions Club of San Fernando, reflecting her involvement in community development and service.
Her artistic accomplishments include winning the Marabella Community Calypso Monarch competition in 2020 with her social commentary, “Speak Life”.
The Mrs Universe competition celebrates more than physical appearance, highlighting women’s achievements, leadership, cultural representation and social involvement.
This year’s programme in Sri Lanka included cultural exchanges, national costume presentations and discussions surrounding important social issues, including domestic violence.
Simon was joined at the event by Ria Mohammed, who represented the Caribbean.
For Simon, the Sri Lanka appearance marks another significant chapter in a journey that has taken her from the classrooms and calypso stages of Trinidad and Tobago to international pageantry.
Her participation again places Trinidad and Tobago among the countries represented on one of the international platforms celebrating women’s accomplishments.
