Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro is leading a Trinidad and Tobago delegation to one of the world’s largest international policing conferences in Orlando, Florida.
The International Association of Chiefs of Police Conference, running from October 23 to 28, brings together more than 16,000 public safety professionals from over 100 countries.
The delegation, sponsored by the United States Embassy, includes Strategic Services Agency Director Alicia Henry and Assistant Commissioner of Police for Criminal Intelligence Andy Tewarie.
Discussions are focusing on organised crime, intelligence-led policing, counterterrorism, cybercrime and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and drones.
Guevarro says the conference provides an opportunity to strengthen international partnerships, exchange expertise and explore modern policing strategies that could improve national security.
The delegation is expected to bring valuable knowledge and professional contacts back to Trinidad and Tobago.
However, no specific technology purchases or new operational agreements have been announced.
