The Bafasports 2026 Midnight Runner Series will conclude this weekend with a 10-kilometre run and walk at the Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort in Tobago, the Trinidad Express reported. The Midnight 10K Magdalena starts at 12.01 a.m. on Sunday, October 25. Participants are asked to assemble at 11.30 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, ahead of the start. Organisers said barriers will close the course to vehicular traffic, with the necessary police permissions and security measures in place. The event will include hydration and motivation stations, race-course photography, prizes and a glow-in-the-dark finisher’s medal. Steelpan, calypso and soca entertainment are planned for the finish line. Part of the proceeds will go towards charity. The Tobago finale follows series stops at Ariapita Avenue, Chaguaramas and Dinsley. Dinsley hosted the Trinidad and Tobago Midnight Marathon, Ekiden Relay and Secondary Schools Half Marathon Relay. The marathon drew 390 runners this year, up from 342 in 2025. The Express reported that this represented a 14 per cent increase and the largest field in 20 years. Kenya’s Alex Ekesa won the marathon, while Colombia’s Palmenia Agudelo was the first woman to finish. Tobago’s PPF men’s team took the Ekiden Relay, and Queen’s Royal College won the Secondary Schools Half-Marathon Relay. The Magdalena event gives runners and walkers their final opportunity to participate in the series this year.
