Popcaan Finally Secures US Visa After Years of Travel Difficulties
Jamaican dancehall superstar Popcaan has reportedly secured his United States visa and travelled to Florida, marking a significant breakthrough after years of difficulties entering the American market.
The development was reported on Sunday, 11 October 2026, by music publications World Music Views and DancehallMag, with the entertainer’s sister, Annalecia “Unruly Squid” Sutherland, also celebrating the milestone.
Popcaan, whose real name is Andrae Sutherland, has established himself as one of Jamaica’s most internationally recognised dancehall artistes, building a global following through hit songs and collaborations with major international performers, including Canadian rapper Drake.
Despite his international success, difficulties obtaining the necessary US travel documents had remained a longstanding obstacle to expanding his presence in the American entertainment market.
In 2023, Popcaan publicly questioned why he was unable to visit the United States despite being permitted to travel to several other countries.
His travel difficulties had previously affected his career, including a scheduled appearance at the 2017 Red Bull Culture Clash in Atlanta, which he was unable to attend because of documentation issues.
Reports indicate that Popcaan has now arrived in Florida, potentially opening new opportunities for concerts, promotional appearances, recording sessions and collaborations with American entertainers.
His sister has welcomed the development and indicated that the Unruly Boss is also working on a new album, adding to anticipation among his supporters.
Although no confirmed US concert dates have been announced, the reported visa approval represents a major development for an artiste whose influence has extended well beyond Jamaica and the Caribbean.
For Popcaan and his international fan base, the breakthrough could signal the beginning of a new chapter in his career, providing greater access to one of the world’s largest music markets.
