On Saturday, October 3, Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations Suzette Martin brought community policing to the streets of Marabella. The event, part of the TTPS “Coffee and Conversation” program, began at the Marabella Police Station before a walk along the Southern Main Road.

Martin met business owners, pedestrians, motorists and residents, listening to concerns about safety and policing. The walk included one‑on‑one conversations, allowing officers to hear firsthand what residents need from the police.

During the walk, a male suspect was arrested for two outstanding warrants, illustrating the program’s impact. The community welcomed the police presence, praising the opportunity to interact directly with senior officers.

“Community policing cannot happen from behind a desk. We must be visible, accessible and prepared to listen,” Martin said. She commended the Southern Division and Marabella Police Station Council for facilitating the engagement and reaffirmed the TTPS commitment to stronger partnerships and people‑centred policing.
