She trusted her boss. She trusted her best friend. Then she saw them holding hands together. In the latest continuation of her personal story, TriniRussian has opened up about the period after she returned to Germany from Tobago, revealing how a serious accident, mounting financial pressure, a failed attempt to secure a divorce and an alleged betrayal by two people close to her eventually caused the life she was rebuilding to collapse. TriniRussian said she returned to Germany in 2009 at age 25 after leaving Tobago without telling her then-husband, explaining that she believed he would not have allowed her to leave if he knew beforehand. Back in Germany, she initially stayed with her mother before finding work and later securing her own apartment. She eventually began working at a newly opened sports bar, where she said she quickly took on responsibilities beyond her official waitress position. According to TriniRussian, she helped train workers, prepare menus and manage different areas of the business, while the owner regularly praised her abilities and made her feel important. She said the attention eventually became personal. At the time, she believed the relationship represented another sign that her life was finally beginning to fall into place. Looking back, however, she now believes she was also being encouraged to take on more work without receiving additional pay. Her attempt to rebuild her life then took a devastating turn after a scooter crash. TriniRussian recalled going out with friends to celebrate before three women got onto her scooter to travel a short distance to another location. She said she attempted to turn before an approaching vehicle, believing she had enough time to cross. However, she said she failed to account for the additional weight on the scooter, which slowed it down. The vehicle struck them. One of the women reportedly suffered a broken leg, while TriniRussian suffered a severe open injury to her own leg. She recalled looking down and seeing exposed flesh and bone as she waited for emergency assistance. She was taken to hospital, where doctors treated and stitched the injury. TriniRussian said she then discovered that she did not have the health insurance coverage she believed should have been arranged through her employment. She claimed she later faced significant medical and legal expenses connected to the crash. According to her account, she lost her driver’s licence for one year and eventually paid more than €10,000 following the incident. Despite the seriousness of the injury, she said she returned to work after only three weeks because she needed income. During her recovery, a close female friend whom she considered almost like a sister began covering some of her shifts. That friend later moved into TriniRussian’s apartment after experiencing difficulties in her own personal life. By then, TriniRussian said her feelings for her boss had become more serious. She believed she was creating a future for herself in Germany, but one major issue remained unresolved. She was still legally married in Tobago. TriniRussian said she travelled back to Tobago intending to obtain a divorce and asked her friend to remain in her apartment and cover her shifts while she was away. Once in Tobago, she approached her husband at his workplace and told him she wanted a divorce. According to TriniRussian, he laughed and told her he would not divorce her. She said he later began repeatedly appearing near the guest house where she was staying and trying to persuade her to return to the relationship. During the visit, she also received a call from another woman who identified herself as his girlfriend. TriniRussian said the situation became increasingly uncomfortable and claimed she eventually became reluctant to leave the guest house because her husband would frequently be nearby or follow her movements. She ultimately arranged for someone to accompany her to the airport and returned to Germany without securing the divorce. But when she got back, another problem was waiting. Rumours began circulating that her close friend and her boss were romantically involved. TriniRussian said she refused to believe them. The woman had stayed in her home. She had covered her shifts. She knew about TriniRussian’s feelings for her boss. Then came the moment that changed everything. TriniRussian said she was walking towards work when she passed a café that she and her boss had previously visited together. Inside, she saw her friend and her boss sitting together, holding hands and smiling. Her boss had his back towards her. Her friend was facing her. TriniRussian said her friend looked directly at her. Then, according to her account, she smiled, leaned forward and kissed him. TriniRussian said the sight confirmed the rumours she had desperately refused to believe. She went to work afterwards but quit the bar that same day. She said the discovery triggered a deep depression and destroyed the future she believed she had been building in Germany. TriniRussian said she felt ashamed, betrayed and used, while also beginning to reconsider previous issues involving her employment and the financial burden she had been left carrying after the accident. For months, she said she barely left her bed unless she needed to work. Germany no longer felt like the fresh start she had fought to build, while returning to Tobago also felt impossible because of the unresolved situation with her husband. By late 2011, she decided she needed another complete reset. With her birthday approaching and widespread fascination at the time surrounding predictions connected to the Mayan calendar and 2012, TriniRussian decided to leave Germany altogether. She sold the contents of her apartment within weeks. Then she bought a one-way ticket to Mexico. One day before her birthday in January 2012, she left her keys behind and boarded the flight. It marked the end of another painful chapter and the beginning of the next stage of TriniRussian’s story.
