A road sign reportedly removed from Baboolal Trace in Sangre Chiquito has been returned following a public appeal from residents. The matter gained attention after a photograph circulated on social media showing a man holding the green “Baboolal Tr.” sign at what appeared to be a private residence. The accompanying caption joked that his friend was named Baboolal and that he “couldn’t pass this sign straight”. Residents later circulated a message calling for the sign to be returned before the end of the day, expressing concern that its absence could create problems for motorists and others trying to locate the area. The sign has since been returned. It remains unclear who originally removed the sign or the exact circumstances surrounding how it was taken. Residents had raised concerns that removing a road sign could create confusion for drivers, emergency services, delivery personnel and people unfamiliar with the community. With the sign now back in place, the immediate concern appears to have been resolved.
