Attorney-at-law Taradath Singh escaped unharmed after a gunman reportedly opened fire in his direction outside his home at Penn Trace, Cunupia, on Monday night. According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred at approximately 7:30 pm on September 28, 2026, as the 53-year-old attorney was reversing his vehicle into his property. Singh reportedly noticed a man emerging from bushes opposite his residence. The assailant then allegedly opened fire in Singh’s direction. Singh managed to get away from the vehicle and run to safety. The gunman subsequently fled the area on foot. Police were called to the scene and investigations into the incident are continuing. Singh is an attorney practising in Trinidad and Tobago. Court records confirm that an attorney named Taradath Singh has appeared in criminal matters before the High Court in 2026, while Financial Intelligence Unit records also list Taradath Singh & Co. Attorneys at Law. There was no immediate information on a possible motive for Monday night’s shooting or whether police had identified a suspect. Investigations are continuing.
