Former Minority Leader Kelvon Morris has opened Cafe Nirvana on Glen Road in Tobago, a grab-and-go cafe now serving the community Monday to Saturday from 7:30 am to 7 pm.
The cafe sits on the same street before the Division of Health and the Division of Culture, close to the district office of Assembly Member Ricky Joefield.
Cafe Nirvana operates on a grab, go, enjoy theme. In a video tour, the offerings were described as including lemon bites, various types of cheesecake, and sandwiches for a quick breakfast or lunch bite. The hot treats section features pastries with cheese pie, beef pie, sausage rolls, beef patties, and chicken patties. Lollies and other snacks cater to both working families and those looking for a quick bite. The space also allows customers to sit, grab a cup of coffee, and get some work done, with plans to build out more options.
Future additions include healthy salads and healthy drinks such as smoothies, according to the video. The opening marks a new business venture for Morris, a former public official, and adds a fresh food option along Glen Road in Tobago.
