Trinidad Killa is demanding answers following the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, claiming the trophy for Soca Collaboration of the Year was mistakenly handed to someone else.
In a profanity-laced video circulating on social media, the Trinidad and Tobago artiste claimed the award should have gone to his collaboration with Nicki Minaj, “Eskimo.”
Killa said he was not invited to the event and alleged that during the confusion surrounding the presentation, his trophy was given to another person.
“The person who take my trophy for best collab of the year, I just ask you, bring it back for me, please,” Killa said.
He went on to identify the collaboration as “Trinidad Killa, Nicki Minaj,” while expressing frustration over the situation.
“Eskimo” was officially nominated for Soca Collaboration of the Year at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards alongside collaborations involving Machel Montano, Ayetian, Davido, Skinny Fabulous, Travis World, Suhrawh, V’ghn, Terra D Governor, Voice, Bunji Garlin, GBM and Nailah Blackman.
The Caribbean Music Awards were held at the National Academy for the Performing Arts in Port of Spain on Saturday, September 19, marking the ceremony’s first staging in Trinidad and Tobago.
At this stage, TG News has not independently confirmed Trinidad Killa’s claim that “Eskimo” was the official winner of Soca Collaboration of the Year or that the trophy was mistakenly presented to another person.
His public demand has, however, raised questions over what happened with the award and who was officially declared the category winner.
