She revealed that her mother will also be attending the Caribbean Music Awards and therefore needed a dress of her own for the event. The light-hearted moment offered fans a glimpse of the family connection behind one of Trinidad and Tobago’s popular soca performers, with mother and daughter smiling together as they prepared for the major Caribbean entertainment event. For Nailah, music and family have long been closely connected. She comes from the Blackman musical family and is the granddaughter of legendary musician Ras Shorty I, whose work played a major role in the development of soca music.
