The Desperadoes Youth Steel Orchestra has secured its first corporate sponsor, with Risk Control Services Limited committing to a three-year partnership with the band. The agreement was signed on Wednesday, 21 October 2026, at the Desperadoes panyard, marking a major step forward for the youth orchestra as it continues to grow and strengthen its operations. Risk Control Services Limited, which is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Taylor, will provide sponsorship support under the three-year arrangement. Mrs. Nicole Griffith-Wallace, Manager of the Desperadoes Youth Band, signed the agreement on behalf of the orchestra. The sponsorship is being viewed as an important milestone for the Desperadoes Youth Steel Orchestra, as it represents the group’s first formal corporate partnership. The deal is expected to provide valuable support for the youth programme and assist in its ongoing development. The partnership also highlights growing confidence in the work of the Desperadoes Youth Steel Orchestra and its role in nurturing young talent through the steelpan movement. With the signing now complete, the youth orchestra is set to benefit from the backing of Risk Control Services Limited over the next three years, as both organisations begin a new partnership centred on youth development and cultural support.
