Police announced on September 18, 2026 that six individuals suspected of a recent robbery were taken into custody during coordinated anti‑crime exercises. The arrests spanned two separate operations conducted on Thursday night and early Friday morning.

Operation Resolute Shield ran from 4 pm to 8 pm across the Enterprise, Longdenville, Chaguanas, Charlieville and Caroni police districts. In a bushy area along Caroni North Bank Road, officers discovered an unoccupied wooden structure containing a black plastic bag that held a homemade shotgun and assorted ammunition.

Later, Operation S.U.M.M.E.R Shield carried out a roving road check in the North Central Division between 10 pm and 2 am. At approximately 12:40 am, officers received a tip that robbery suspects were near Scott Street in St. Augustine. Police identified themselves, apprehended the group, and later detained four additional individuals at a second location in the same town.

The six suspects consist of two teenage boys, aged 14 and 15, two men aged 18 and 20 from St. Augustine, and two men aged 21 and 23 from Arouca. Senior officers, including Acp Remy, Snr. Supt. Bhagwandeen, Supt. Jaikaran and others, oversaw the operations with assistance from Central and North Central Division Task Forces.

Authorities confirmed the seizure of the homemade shotgun and noted that investigations are ongoing as they continue to piece together the robbery’s full scope.
