A Trinidadian man has shared his excitement over the arrival of IHOP and Applebee’s Grill + Bar by purchasing meals and taking them directly to people experiencing homelessness. Ishmael Tarouba shared a video showing himself distributing the restaurant meals to people on the streets. Tarouba explained that with the popular American restaurant brands coming to Trinidad and Tobago, he wanted people experiencing homelessness to also have an opportunity to share in the experience. He purchased meals from IHOP and Applebee’s Grill + Bar and personally delivered them to people on the streets. Footage from the initiative shows Tarouba carrying bags of food and approaching people along the pavement before handing over the meals. The video attracted hundreds of reactions online, with viewers responding to the gesture. Tarouba said his intention was to share the experience of the new restaurants with members of the homeless community, allowing them to also enjoy meals from the brands.
