On 15 September 2026, a 42-year-old man named Andy Jailall was sentenced to a year of simple imprisonment for a series of break-ins that rattled the Princes Town community.
The crimes spanned three separate incidents: a house break‑in and larceny on 15 August, a pavilion break‑in on 3 September, and a shop break‑in on 6 September, all investigated by the Princes Town CID under PC Thomas.
Jailall’s arrest resulted from coordinated efforts by senior police officers, including W/Supt Bridglal, ASP Pacheco, Asp Chulhan, Insp Wilkinson, Ag. Insp Nanan, Ag. Sgt Teeluck and Cpl Ramkissoon. He was formally charged on 12 September.
The matter was heard before Master Sookraj Goswami at the South B-1 Ajipa Court on 14 September. Jailall pleaded guilty to both charges and received concurrent sentences of one year each.
The sentencing underscores the district’s commitment to curbing property crime and serves as a deterrent to would‑be offenders in the community.
