Queen’s College student Malachi Seales has emerged as one of Guyana’s top performers in the 2026 Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations. Seales successfully completed 21 subjects, achieving 15 Grade Ones, four Grade Twos, and two Grade Threes, placing him among the elite group of high-achieving students from Queen’s College and other schools across Guyana.
The preliminary results released by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) have showcased impressive performances from students nationwide. However, education officials, including Minister Sonia Parag, emphasize that these results are preliminary. Students have the opportunity to request reviews, which may lead to adjustments before the final results are confirmed.
Minister Parag revealed that 264 candidates achieved at least eight Grade Ones, while 78 students secured 12 or more Grade Ones. This marks an improvement over 2025, when only 59 candidates managed to achieve the same feat. Notably, Nitya Narine from Tagore Memorial Secondary School recorded 26 Grade Ones, Anushka Singh from Queen’s College obtained 25 Grade Ones, and Shreya Ramnarine from Anna Regina Secondary achieved 22 Grade Ones.
As Guyana’s Ministry of Education highlights the country’s increased CSEC and CAPE pass rates for 2026, students and their families celebrate these accomplishments. However, they are reminded that the final determination of the top CSEC performers will only be made after the examination process, including any reviews, is fully completed.
For now, Malachi Seales joins a growing list of students from Queen’s College who have excelled in the 2026 examinations, reinforcing the school’s reputation for academic excellence. His achievements underscore the dedication and hard work of students and educators alike in striving for success in these challenging examinations.
