Hold the Judgment: Minister Urges Public to Await Facts in Hadeed Investigation
Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander is calling on the public to remain patient and allow investigators to complete their work following the high-profile detention of businessman Dominic Hadeed, his wife Genevieve Hadeed, and Star Sabga.
Speaking in Tunapuna, Alexander cautioned against what he described as a “trial by social media,” urging citizens not to draw conclusions or spread speculation before the investigation has run its course.
The Minister stressed that while the matter has attracted significant public attention, it is important that law enforcement officers be allowed to carry out their duties without outside pressure or misinformation influencing public opinion.
His comments come as legal proceedings continue surrounding the preventive detention orders issued during the current State of Emergency. The case has sparked widespread debate over national security, civil liberties, and the use of emergency powers.
Alexander maintained that the public should allow the investigative process to unfold and await the relevant facts before forming judgments on the individuals involved.
