Uncle Rowley, We Miss You! TikTok Users Get Nostalgic As Former PM Shares Everyday Moments
Former Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has been sharing glimpses of his everyday life on TikTok, and some viewers are responding with a mixture of nostalgia, affectionate messages, playful apologies and calls for him to come back.
From casual moments at home to preparing meals for his family, Rowley’s posts have become an unexpected gathering place for people reminiscing about the former Prime Minister.
In one recent video, Rowley was seen in his kitchen preparing pigtail, with a large breadfruit resting on the counter. The post, captioned “Life sweet” and “Cooking food for the fam”, attracted hundreds of comments, many of which had absolutely nothing to do with what was cooking.
“Uncle Rowley take we back nha, we miss you”, one viewer pleaded.
Another wrote, “Uncle come back please”, while others shared messages suggesting they were beginning to appreciate certain memories a little differently.
One particularly amusing comment came from a user named Celly, who declared, “Just know I never went against you ehh uncle”, accompanied by a sad emoji.
The comment attracted thousands of likes, and Rowley himself responded with a smiling halo emoji and raised hands.
Other viewers joined the conversation with affectionate messages, humorous comparisons and reflections on his years as Prime Minister.
Some even compared the experience to seeing an ex-partner enjoying life and suddenly remembering the good times.
The former Prime Minister appeared to be taking it all in stride. In another exchange, he simply responded, “I am enjoying”, accompanied by a smiling emoji.
Whether the comments are expressions of genuine nostalgia, playful sarcasm, political frustration or simply good old-fashioned Trinidadian humour, the exchanges have brought an entertaining dimension to Rowley’s TikTok presence.
Not everyone was asking him to return. Some viewers encouraged him to relax, enjoy his retirement and continue sharing moments from his personal life.
For now, Rowley appears content cooking, spending time with family and sharing occasional glimpses of his daily routine.
And while Uncle Rowley seems to be enjoying himself, some TikTok users are clearly enjoying a trip down memory lane.
