A small business owner behind Vinas Creations is getting attention online after delivering a blunt message to customers who bring another business’s prices into her establishment while attempting to negotiate. In a video shared online, the entrepreneur said she considers the practice disrespectful, particularly when customers tell her they received the same or a similar service elsewhere for a lower price and expect her to match it. “Some of all are very disrespectful outside here,” she said. “All you want to come and bring other people price to another business place. And that is not nice.” She made it clear that customers are free to choose whichever business offers the price they prefer, but said another company’s pricing should not be used to determine what she charges for her own work. “If you have to come to me and you’re bringing another person price and telling me, ‘Oh, I pay for that down the road and that is how much I pay for it,’ and you’re coming by me with that person price down the road, carry it back down the road,” she said. The business owner repeated the message several times, stressing that entrepreneurs determine their prices based on their own expenses, labour and operations. She also suggested that some customers may not fully understand the pressures involved in operating a small business until they experience it themselves. “Until you get a business of your own and start to do it, then you all will know how disrespectful you all are,” she said. Her message was straightforward: customers can compare prices and shop wherever they choose, but should not expect one independent business to automatically honour another business’s rate. “Wherever you get your price, carry it back there. It’s simple as that.”
