Elder Associates founder Dr Patricia L. Elder passes away Dr Patricia L. Elder, founder and chairman of Elder Associates Limited, has died, the company announced. In a statement, the Board of Directors, management and staff expressed “profound sadness” over Elder’s passing and extended condolences to her family, loved ones, colleagues and those whose lives she touched. According to Elder Associates, Dr Elder returned to Trinidad and Tobago in 1993 following an academic career abroad and dedicated herself to providing psychological and mental health services locally and across the wider Caribbean. That same year, she established Elder Associates Limited, through which she worked with individuals and organisations while contributing to the development of psychological and mental health services. The company said her work was defined by professionalism, dedication and service, values it intends to preserve following her death. “Elder Associates Limited remains committed to honouring Dr. Elder’s legacy and continuing the vision, professionalism and dedication to service upon which she founded the organization in 1993,” the company said. The organisation said Dr Elder would be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced and are expected to be shared at a later date.
