Three men were arrested after officers recovered a firearm, ammunition and a black ski mask during an anti-crime exercise in Tabaquite on Wednesday night, according to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service. The Guardian reported that officers from the Brasso and Gran Couva Police Stations were conducting an Operation Resolute Shield exercise between 7 pm and 11 pm on November 4. At about 7.35 pm, a joint mobile patrol responded to a report of masked men in the area. Officers went to a track off Cito Lane, where they saw three men matching the description provided. One was reportedly wearing a mask. Police said the men ran when they saw the officers, prompting a chase in which all three were caught. The suspects were identified by age and community: a 24-year-old from Flanagain Town, a 22-year-old from Williamsville and a 25-year-old from Tabaquite. According to police, one man had a firearm containing four rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition and a black ski mask. Officers reported finding two additional rounds in another suspect\u2019s pockets and three rounds in the possession of the third man. The same police update detailed a separate operation by the Northern North Division Task Force between 11 pm on Wednesday and 2 am on Thursday. Acting on intelligence, officers searched a bushy area near Unity Lane, Carapo, and found a black plastic bag beneath galvanised sheets. It contained a red glove and a firearm with two rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition. Officers subsequently went to Damarie Hill, Guaico, where they arrested a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.
