Luxembourg\u2019s selection process for Eurovision 2027 has attracted 821 song submissions, a record for the national contest, according to ESCBEAT. More than 500 entries arrived during the final two weeks of the submission window.<\/p>\n
Broadcaster RTL is using the Luxembourg Song Contest 2027 to choose the country\u2019s entry. This edition separates applications into two paths, one for performers and another for songs, before bringing the shortlisted material and artists together.<\/p>\n
A panel of music experts and Eurovision enthusiasts will assess the submitted songs. A pairing workshop in November will then explore which entries best suit the shortlisted performers, with support from coaches, musicians and Eurovision specialists. Artists will perform their chosen songs before an expert jury makes a further selection.<\/p>\n
ESCBEAT reports that RTL previously named 12 artists advancing in the process: Carmen Luisa, Clement Lerat, Debbie M, Ga\u00efa, Hugo One, Jaya, KIM, Layso Roy, Marco Misolic, Maya Maunet, Patricia Ven\u00e2ncio and Perrine Thomas. Their advancement does not mean all 12 have secured places in the televised selection.<\/p>\n
The national contest is scheduled for 30 January 2027. Songs may be performed in any language, including Luxembourgish. Performers must be at least 18 on 15 January 2027 and meet one of three conditions: Luxembourgish nationality, at least three years\u2019 residence in Luxembourg, or demonstrable roots in its music scene.<\/p>\n
For the artists and songwriters, the next stage is the matching process. Performers may ultimately sing a song they submitted themselves or an entry supplied by another songwriter, with the workshop helping determine those combinations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
