The Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union, led by Ancel Roget, has indicated that it will not join the demonstration because of preparations for upcoming negotiations.

The march was initially scheduled for October 16 but was subsequently postponed, with organisers eventually settling on October 30.

Union representatives have stressed that Friday’s action should not be interpreted simply as a political protest against the current administration, but as an opportunity to demand meaningful attention to issues affecting citizens across the country.

With the demonstration approaching, attention now turns to the level of participation and whether the mobilisation will encourage renewed dialogue between the Government and organised labour.

For the unions involved, the central message remains that workers’ concerns must be heard, outstanding obligations must be addressed, and national development must translate into tangible improvements in people’s everyday lives.

Trade Unions Prepare for Friday Protest March Demanding Better Wages, Jobs and National Accountability

[62

post-6810","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-trinidad-and-tobago
["GET
