Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander joined an experienced firefighter inside a refurbished fire appliance during a station reopening ceremony, taking a closer look at the vehicle’s audible warning system.<\/p>\n
Footage released by the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service shows Alexander seated alongside Firefighter Remington McIntyre, identified as a seasoned Extra Heavy Driver, inside the refurbished fire appliance numbered 503.<\/p>\n
The two engaged in conversation while checking the vehicle’s audible warning system, an important safety feature used to alert motorists and pedestrians when firefighters are responding to emergencies.<\/p>\n
According to the Fire Service, McIntyre, whose service identification number is 3515, accompanied the Minister during the demonstration.<\/p>\n
Following the inspection, Alexander exited the vehicle and rejoined Member of Parliament Saddam Hosein and Acting Chief Fire Officer Ansar Ali as the officials brought the reopening ceremony to a close.<\/p>\n
Beyond the ceremonial appearance, the interaction offered a glimpse into the work of experienced fire officers responsible for operating large emergency vehicles.<\/p>\n
The refurbishment of appliance 503 also draws attention to the importance of maintaining existing firefighting equipment alongside investments in new vehicles and infrastructure.<\/p>\n
