Eight men were taken into custody after a 56\u2011year\u2011old woman was assaulted and robbed outside Adam\u2019s Bagels on Saddle Road in Maraval on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The victim had just withdrawn $22,000 from a bank and was returning to her white Kia Sportage when three men in a silver Nissan Tiida attacked her. She was punched, kicked, and forced to surrender cash, an iPhone 12 and three bank cards.<\/p>\n
Western Division officers launched a major operation that led to the arrest of the eight suspects, who were aged 19 to 39. The operation was authorised by Senior Superintendent Williams and coordinated by Superintendent Archibald, ASP Basant, Inspector Perry and Sergeant Dominique.<\/p>\n
Police also seized a black Honda City on Morne Coco Road with four occupants, all of whom were detained. The Nissan Tiida was recovered without a battery on North Coast Road, and a handbag containing the victim\u2019s documents was found inside and later towed.<\/p>\n
The attack was captured on CCTV, spreading quickly on social media and sparking calls for justice.
