The crowd, numbering in the thousands, chanted slogans such as &#8220;We want the revolution&#8221; and &#8220;We want a new government.&#8221; According to the footage, the protesters said they had been marching peacefully for about 140 days, but their pleas had gone unheard. &#8220;We just ask that our prime minister leaves,&#8221; one speaker said. &#8220;We don&#8217;t want to negotiate anything. We have been protesting peacefully, but nothing was heard. Now we are going violently,&#8221; the speaker added.
