Britney Maharaj, the 13-year-old girl who had been missing for 26 days, was safely located by the Hunters Search and Rescue Team in a forested area, according to a video posted by the team. The team said she was found hiding in a ravine with a man described as her stepfather.

The discovery followed a search involving multiple team members who gathered in the area that evening. In the video, a speaker explains that spotters moved in, prompting the man and girl to flee and hide. The man ran across but eventually returned, and Britney was found concealed in the ravine.

The speaker noted that the mother had been pleading for her daughter’s return, and the team expressed relief that Britney was found safe. They also stated that the police have been called following the discovery.
