He said his father was also involved in an accident and spent approximately nine months in a wheelchair.<\/p>\n<p>The change was significant for the family, which Kees described as having previously enjoyed a more comfortable middle-class lifestyle.<\/p>\n<p>He said the experience affected him deeply as a young teenager and made him determined not to become an additional financial burden on his parents.<\/p>\n<p>That motivation eventually drew him towards earning money through music.
