Rasif Mohammed, a 63\u2011year\u2011old entrepreneur who ran the Fowl Play poultry shop in the Aripero district of San Fernando, was killed in a midday shooting on Friday, October 2, 2026. The attack unfolded at the very business compound where he had previously survived a gun assault.<\/p>\n
Mohammed\u2019s earlier encounter with gunfire occurred on August 29, 2025, when armed assailants opened fire on his shop\u2019s premises. He escaped that incident with injuries but lived.<\/p>\n
According to police statements, a gunman approached the compound on October 2 and unleashed a barrage of shots at Mohammed and a 24\u2011year\u2011old male labourer traveling with him. The labourer, later identified as Mohammed\u2019s son\u2011in\u2011law Jimmy Balack, was also hit.<\/p>\n
Both victims were rushed to San Fernando General Hospital. While Balack survived after receiving treatment, Mohammed was pronounced dead at the hospital later that day.<\/p>\n
