According to the Hunters Search and Rescue Team, led by Captain Vallence Rambharat, the team received a distress call concerning the animal and contacted Senior Game Warden Steve Seepersad for assistance. Seepersad reportedly responded immediately and was able to safely remove the otter from the catch pit. The animal was subsequently released into its natural habitat. Hunters Search and Rescue thanked Seepersad for what it described as his prompt and professional response. The team also recognised Dipnarine Ramlochan for being vigilant, spotting the animal and seeking assistance. The neotropical otter is a wildlife species found in Trinidad and Tobago and is protected under local wildlife laws. Hunters Search and Rescue reminded members of the public that assistance is available when wildlife becomes trapped or endangered and advised people to contact trained personnel rather than attempting potentially risky rescues themselves. The team can be contacted at 799-1453 for wildlife rescue assistance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Game Warden Rescues Adult Neotropical Otter Trapped In Barrackpore Catch Pit Friday Morning<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":5107,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[62],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5108","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-trinidad-and-tobago"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/tringlobe.news\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5108","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/tringlobe.news\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/tringlobe.news\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/tringlobe.news\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/tringlobe.news\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=5108"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/tringlobe.news\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5108\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/tringlobe.news\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media\/5107"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/tringlobe.news\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=5108"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/tringlobe.news\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=5108"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/tringlobe.news\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=5108"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
