Nailah Blackman says preparations for the Caribbean Music Awards became nerve-wracking after her dress was held in customs because it was made with real feathers.<\/p>\n
The Trinidad and Tobago soca artiste said authorities quarantined the outfit over the feathers, creating a last-minute scramble to have it released in time for the awards.<\/p>\n
According to Blackman, the situation continued into the early hours of the morning, with the Minister of Agriculture being contacted at around 1 a.m. as efforts were made to secure the dress.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe literally called the Minister of Agriculture at 1 a.m. in the morning fighting to get my dress,\u201d Blackman said.<\/p>\n
She said the dress was eventually released at approximately 9 a.m. that morning.<\/p>\n
