Trinibad artiste Plumpy Boss appears to be entering a new chapter in his career, with his latest release, \u201cKeep Trying\u201d, gaining more than 330,000 views on YouTube just eight days after its release.<\/p>\n
The performance of the song comes against a much bigger story surrounding the artiste, whose journey over the past two years has included surviving a serious shooting, undergoing a lengthy recovery and, more recently, participating in a public push for peace.<\/p>\n
Plumpy Boss, whose real name is Meschach Emmanuel, was critically injured following a performance in Sint Maarten in July 2024. He later returned to Trinidad for further medical treatment as he began what would become a lengthy road to recovery.<\/p>\n
His survival has since become an important part of his story.<\/p>\n
Another significant moment came in August 2026 when Plumpy Boss and fellow Trinibad artiste K-Man participated in peace talks aimed at ending their longstanding feud.<\/p>\n
The talks were facilitated by Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander, with Justice Minister Devesh Maharaj also present.<\/p>\n
The artistes agreed to put their differences aside, signalling a potentially important change within a music movement that has often faced scrutiny over violent rivalries and lyrical clashes.<\/p>\n

The music video has accumulated approximately 330,000 views, 16,000 likes and close to 1,000 comments on YouTube within eight days.<\/p>\n
Against the backdrop of what Plumpy Boss has experienced, the song’s title and message of perseverance carry additional significance.<\/p>\n
His latest musical chapter comes after surviving an attack that threatened his life, spending an extended period recovering and participating in an initiative aimed at moving beyond conflict.<\/p>\n
For Plumpy Boss, \u201cKeep Trying\u201d arrives at a moment when his public story is increasingly centred on survival, reconciliation and rebuilding.<\/p>\n
