Operation RESOLUTE Shield, a weekend police exercise, resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the seizure of two firearms, ammunition, and cannabis, according to a media release issued on September 13, 2026.<\/p>\n
In the first operation, officers from the Northern North Division conducted a drill between 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm on Saturday, September 12, at a bushy stretch of Mottley Trace on Pinto Road in Arima. A targeted search uncovered a Beretta pistol, a five\u2011round magazine, and a quantity of cannabis.<\/p>\n
The exercise was overseen by Senior Superintendent Frank, Superintendent Mc Kenzie, ASP Balewa, ASP Morales, W\/ASP Wilkinson, W\/Insp. Ramai, Sergeant Trancoso, Corporal Dedier, the Canine Unit, and personnel from the Malabar and Pinto posts, highlighting coordinated inter\u2011unit effort.<\/p>\n
Later that evening, the South Western Division carried out an anti\u2011crime drill around 7:45 pm in Point Fortin\u2019s Salazar Trace. Officers observed a 47\u2011year\u2011old male suspect, who glanced at them before fleeing. He was apprehended a short distance away, and a search revealed a Glock pistol equipped with a selector and an extended magazine holding 19 rounds.<\/p>\n
