APPLEBEE\u2019S AND IHOP RECEIPT GIVES TRINIDADIANS FIRST LOOK AT PRICES AFTER GRAND BAZAAR OPENING
\nTrinidad and Tobago is getting its first real-world look at what dining at the newly opened Applebee\u2019s and IHOP location at Grand Bazaar could cost, after a customer\u2019s receipt began circulating on social media.
\nThe receipt, dated Sunday, September 6, 2026, shows an order from the combined Applebee\u2019s and IHOP operation at Building S, City of Grand Bazaar, Valsayn.
\nAmong the prices visible are TT$90 for Chicken & Waffles, TT$99 for Boneless Wings, TT$125 for a cheeseburger with French fries, TT$150 for a Spinach & Mushroom Omelette and TT$195 for Blackened Cajun Salmon with seasoned broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes.
\nDrinks on the bill include large orange juice at TT$35 and large cranberry juice at TT$40, while a Bahama Mama is listed at TT$65.
\nThe receipt provides an interesting early snapshot of how the internationally recognised American restaurant brands are being priced for the Trinidad and Tobago market.
\nFor the particular order shown, the base amount is listed as TT$879. The receipt also displays TT$120.89 alongside 12.5 per cent VAT and TT$87.90 alongside a 10 per cent gratuity, with TT$1,087.79 appearing as the subtotal on the visible portion of the receipt.
\nThere is, however, an apparent issue with how the totals are labelled on the receipt. TT$879 plus TT$120.89 and TT$87.90 equals TT$1,087.79. This means the figure labelled \u201cSubtotal\u201d appears to already incorporate both amounts shown for VAT and gratuity. The remainder of the receipt is not visible, so it cannot be determined from the image alone whether the gratuity was subsequently added again or whether this is simply a labelling or formatting issue.
