This operation was conducted as part of the ongoing Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E Shield, aimed at curbing illegal firearm activities in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The coordinated effort took place on the night of Wednesday, August 19, 2026, between 9 pm and midnight. Officers from both the North Central Division Task Force (NCDTF) and Northern North Division Task Force (NNDTF) carried out the operation based on intelligence reports.<\/p>\n<p>During the search in a bushy area located between Unity Ville and Andrew Lane, Arima, officers discovered a purple backpack. Inside the bag was a plastic bag containing a revolver and three rounds of .38 ammunition. Further inspection led to the discovery of nineteen rounds of 5.56 ammunition, carefully wrapped in plastic.<\/p>\n<p>The operation was initiated by Snr Supt. Gift and coordinated by a team including Supt Jaikaran, Asp Bharath, Insp. Ramdial, and Ag.Sgt Bedase, with direct supervision by Ag\/Cpl Simon. Their concerted efforts were further supported by officers from the Arouca Police Station and Arouca CID.<\/p>\n<p>This operation marks a critical step in the ongoing efforts to reduce illegal firearms in the area.
