Around 6:45 a.m. on August 11, 2026, officers observed an unidentified male trying to throw a package over the prison&#8217;s perimeter wall at the intersection of Gordon and Pembroke Streets.<\/p>\n<p>The man, reported to be wearing a blue top and cream-colored long pants, fled the scene on foot as officers approached him. He managed to escape with the package in his possession, preventing it from entering the prison facility.<\/p>\n<p>The Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service has issued a reminder that trafficking prohibited items into or out of a prison is a serious offense under the Prisons Act. This act has been reinforced with amendments from the Miscellaneous Provisions (Law Enforcement Officers) Act, No. 25 of 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities have warned the public against engaging in such illegal activities, highlighting that those caught could face arrest and prosecution.
