The officer, who has been with the force for approximately nine months, is due to appear in court on Monday, August 3.<\/p>\n<p>The incident unfolded at the Mayaro Police Station on July 29, when internal checks revealed that a service firearm and ammunition were missing. An internal investigation was promptly launched, leading to the recovery of the missing items. Acting Sergeant Denoon laid the charge after a review by Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Anju Bhola.<\/p>\n<p>The officer, residing at Seaview Lane, Mayaro, was taken into custody as the investigation progressed. The area where the firearm was found was meticulously processed by investigators, ensuring a thorough follow-up on the breach.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro has reiterated the TTPS&#8217;s commitment to upholding integrity and accountability within its ranks. &#8220;The TTPS maintains an uncompromising position on integrity and accountability.
