During the testimony, a woman assisting the pastor told the congregation that the child had been unable to speak and that his family had sought help from several places before bringing him to the church.

However, relatives, close family friends and individuals who know the child and his parents told TG News that this version of events is not true.

The sources requested anonymity because they do not wish to tarnish the church’s image, attack the pastor or cause unnecessary division. They said they appreciate that prayers were offered for the child and firmly believe that God can and does perform healing miracles.

Their concern, they explained, is specifically with how this child’s story was presented.

According to the sources, the boy first visited the church approximately three years ago, when he was around four years old. At that stage, his family may have had some concerns about the fluency of his speech, but they insist he was able to communicate and was already saying words.

They said the child was not mute and had not been completely unable to speak. Rather, he was a four-year-old whose speech was still developing.

The sources explained that the boy continued to grow and develop over the following years, gradually becoming more fluent. He is now approaching his eighth birthday and is described by those close to him as an intelligent child who has been speaking for years.

The boy later returned to the church several years after his first visit. During the service, the pastor reportedly remembered him and called him forward.

It was during that recent encounter that the testimony was presented to the congregation, with statements suggesting the child had previously been unable to speak and had now returned as evidence of a healing.

According to the people who contacted TG News, relatives and friends who knew the child were shocked after seeing the video because they were familiar with his development and knew he had been speaking long before the recent church service.

They believe the testimony gave the public the impression that the boy had been unable to speak until the church’s intervention, when they say he had instead experienced gradual speech development over several years.

The sources also said the family did not give permission for the video to be published online nor were they aware it would have been aired.

After discovering that the testimony had been posted and was circulating widely, a family member reportedly contacted and visited the church to request that the video be removed. However, according to the sources, the video had not been taken down at the time they spoke with TG News

They said the family did not initially want to make the matter public and attempted to address it directly with the church. They have now shared their account because the video remains online and continues to present a version of the child’s story that they say is false and misleading.

This report is not intended to undermine the church, discredit the pastor or suggest that divine healing does not occur. The people who spoke with TG News repeatedly stressed that they believe in God, prayer and miracles and support the church.

Their position is simply that faith does not remove the need for accuracy, particularly when the life of a child is being used as part of a public testimony.

This story will be updated should the church provide a statement.

[62

post-2715","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-trinidad-and-tobago
["GET
