The aid was distributed through disaster relief and home repair grants, with the goal of assisting vulnerable families in their recovery and rebuilding efforts. The Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services distributed the grants during a ceremony at the Chaguanas Borough Corporation Auditorium.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Ministry, the assistance will benefit a total of 163 people. The majority of the funding, amounting to $418,905.75, was allocated through Disaster Relief Grants. These grants were given to 57 households, representing 158 beneficiaries. In addition, Minor Home Repair Grants valued at $43,102 were received by two households, benefiting five individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Vandana Mohit emphasized that this initiative represents more than just financial help, it stands as a commitment to aiding families recover from difficult circumstances. &#8216;The real story is what these grants represent &#8211; hope where, only weeks ago, there was uncertainty,&#8217; Mohit said.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the Minister assured the recipients of the government&#8217;s continued support, emphasizing that their mission extends beyond the distribution exercise. The grants, as stated by the Ministry, are part of the National Social Development Programme.
